2016 AIDS Walk Charlotte Wrap
AIDS WALK Charlotte is the signature fundraising event for RAIN, whose mission is to provide access to quality, personalized care in a nurturing environment for individuals and their families who are living with HIV and associated chronic conditions so they may live healthier fulfilled lives.
Through education and advocacy, RAIN promotes disease prevention, understanding, and dignity for those affected by HIV and for those who are at risk.
The 20th annual AIDS WALK Charlotte is the Carolinas largest HIV awareness and fundraising event. Over two decades, AIDS WALK Charlotte has raised over $2 million for HIV/AIDS prevention activities and care for those infected. Also, AIDS WALK Charlotte is the visual representation of the Charlotte region’s commitment to caring for our neighbors in need and slowing the spread of this devastating disease.

On Saturday, May 7, brave individuals walked two miles through the heart of Uptown Charlotte in celebration of the past, present, and an HIV-free future.
About The Walk
The walk is approximately two miles long and takes about 30 minutes to complete. There is a morning program for kick-off and a brief closing ceremony after the walk. Kids and pets are welcome to walk.
All funds generated by the event stay in Charlotte. RAIN’s goal is to ensure access to quality, personalized care in a nurturing environment for individuals as well as their families who are living with HIV. Most of all RAIN promotes disease prevention through education, advocacy understanding, and dignity for those affected by HIV.
